The initiative came from the basic idea of having a furry community within today’s standards, mainly revolving around artwork (drawings and any other kind of art), but focusing on social interaction like Facebook and such.
Yet, we somehow want to be different from what is offered today in furry communities: Implementing an improved (and faster) interface, a somewhat more modern look, and let’s say, better resources and functionalities so that the users can have an overall more enjoyable experience.
Like it has been said before, what you will see in @Furry will be, at least at first, what you already know from other community websites. Therefore, the question arises: Why would you or anyone else drag and move your gallery or profile over to this site if it has nothing new to offer?
I would say that, at first, it would indeed seem to offer nothing new, and sincerely speaking, it might be this way for a while, since some resources and features simply cannot be implemented overnight. The fact is that, even so, we want (and we will) focus on implementing key innovative features to the users as well as the integration with other social networking platforms. The whole portal, itself, has many of its key mechanics inspired in social networking portals.
